TRADED Pre-War Guitars Company 000-28 in Braz. w/speed neck. Video.
This is a spectacular 2022 Pre-War Guitars Company herringbone 000-28 in Brazilian rosewood, with distress level 1.5 and a speed neck executed by famed luthier Lynn Dudenbostel. I bought it new from Carter Vintage, and when I received it during the Swannanoa Gathering, I strummed it a few times, then took it to one of the builders in our Luthiers Exhibit who had built two guitars for me. After he played it, I then took it to one of my multiple-Grammy-winning staff members who also gave it a spin. All three of us had exactly the same reaction: “This is the best new guitar I’ve ever played.”
I have extraordinary Pre-War guitars in three body sizes: a 0-28 Braz., a 00-28 EIR and a 000-28 Braz. Tonally, they are all remarkably similar, the main difference being the depth in their voices, as one might expect from the different size bodies. The 00 has nearly everything the 000 has, but with slightly more prominent trebles, great for a fingerpicker like myself, while the 000 has slightly more depth and spaciousness overall, perfect for almost every style of music. But since the 00 is the body size I prefer, it tends to be the one I play the most, to the neglect of the 000. And that’s a shame, because I try to stick to a ’no play, no stay’ rule. Great instruments deserve to be played. I’m testing the waters in putting this one up for sale. If someone has been just waiting for one of these to become available, I’ll sell it to someone who will play it, but if not, I’m happy keeping it and trying to give it more playing time. It’s in the condition that it came to me. It looks more like a distress level 1 than a 1.5. In addition to the standard finish crazing, it has just a little scuffing on the treble side of the soundhole. Also, since I’ve had it, I found a small blemish in the rim near the endpin that’s just barely discernible in the photo. It appears to me to be a slight cracking in the finish and could just be further finish crazing. At any rate, it’s in an area reinforced inside by the end block, so it never bothered me. A new 000 in Braz. ordered from Pre-War would mean a two year wait (at least) and at today's prices would cost $9295 plus $350 for the speed neck, for a total of $9645. Of course, it's possible Pre-War might have a price increase during those two years as well. I've dropped the price to TRADED for this one, available immediately. I'll consider offers. No trades, please. If this is what you’ve been looking for, then like the folks at Carter’s said when I bought it, “You’re getting one helluva guitar.” No video sounds as good as the guitar does in your lap, but here's a short clip to give an idea of what it sounds like. It was recorded directly into my MacBook Pro using its built-in microphone, so it lacks some of the warmth you'd hear in person. Best listened to with headphones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTe-p3z1Vf0 .

Looks like the video has restricted access. Might need to edit that before you can share it with with people.

Soups, several others have reported being able to watch it with no problem, so not sure why you can't...

crack near end pin
Beautiful guitar!! When I try to magnify the crack near the endpin I can not get a good look at it. It looks like a scratch or gauge but I know I am not getting a clear look at it. Perhaps you could put sunlight on it and take a photo close up?

Very likely a distress craze. I've had a couple PWG braz and on one I mistook a craze for a slight crack myself. Wasted a lot of time and money sending it to the dealer/ then NC to find out it wasn't a crack at all. This might be the case here.

Even if it is in the wood, it's over the tailblock on the inside of the guitar, which stabilizes it. I've always just ignored it and it hasn't moved. .

Just bought a supper nice Pre*War 00-18 from Jim. I also did a trade last year both transactions were smooth as can be. I wish I was in the market for a rosewood as I would buy this one. Great seller. GLWS.

Nice! But they seriously charge $350 to do a speed neck? I've saved myself thousands I guess doing my own instruments....and about one hour's time apiece....
