"I Remember John Lennon"
A marvelous song by a good friend, Mark Turnbull... I first heard this in 1981, shortly after Lennon's death... and it remains evocative, poignant, funny (!) and powerful portrait of a man who was VERY important to me in my younger years...
https://youtu.be/a-kwIjPZon8 After the shooting, I remember feeling that I HAD to write a song about this man who had influenced me SO much... a song to honor all that I felt about him. Then I heard Mark singing this song, in January 1981... and I realized that I didn't have to write that song, after all... This pretty much says it all, for me! play on...........................> John Seth Sherman

Thanks for that, Jseth. I have been thinking about that day today. It’s still hard to process. Your friend wrote a fine song.

Very nice....
I was running the record store on that day 42 years ago...still remember the somber state of everyone coming in, and the local tv station calling for a comment and I couldn't come up with anything. Here's another favorite "tribute"...
