Default Simon Fox 'Any Day Now' cover

Hope you like it! I've worked on this for awhile but got recording fright, so my timing strays here and there and there are some errors throughout - oh well!

I posted about Simon a few months ago, but I have been using his iPhone app for a ton of tabs, his music is so much fun to play. For anyone interested, his app has around 30 tabs, complete with backstory, explanations of themes, and insights to his technique. For example, beginning at 1:33 in my cover I utilize his version of a percussive hit, where he uses his middle or ring ringer to click the upper strings, as opposed to using his thumb on the bass string like many others do. That was tricky to get right!

Good job with that.

His tunes are generally above my skill level, but I still have a bunch of them waiting for me to work on at some point.

Thanks TB! I definitely chose some of the easier ones to start with haha. I can't come close to half of them yet

Beautifully played man, and I relate so much to the recording fright you mentioned! That section starting around 1:33 is really interesting

Thank you both! Yes, Roscoe, I think the more I do it the easier it will be

That's a really good cover, well done. I have recording fright so bad I can't even get started!! You were great there.
I've been lucky enough to have a couple of lessons from Simon, he's such a great guy and his music is really nice. So far I've learnt The Fisherman, Dagger Woods and Purple Turtle but you have inspired me to give this one a go, even though it might be a bit out of reach for my playing level.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks so much! If you can play Purple Turtle you can play this one - it sounds more complex than it is, but once you get the fingerings down it's very efficient. Good luck with it, you should record it!
