2020 should have been a year for not buying anything new (guitar-wise) since I bought my first brand new Martin right at the end of 2019 and financed it for a year with Affirm as they were kind enough to give me 0% interest. But more on that in a minute. I'm sure that the way 2020 unfolded affected my buying and selling. No gigging means less need for equipment, right? At least one would think that. I did however have a brand new Martin to 'outfit' and so that meant buying and selling several pickup systems until I found one I liked which in my case was a K&K Double Helix Solo.

Then came the need for live streaming which meant some new toys for that. In my case that ended up being an Ear Trumpet Labs Edwina mic and an iRig Pro interface. Other than that the only things bought were small ticket items like strings and picks and capo's, oh my! In the selling arena I was technically one guitar 'heavy' after adding the Martin. Since I had three Cole Clarks, one each of their models, and especially with no gigging I certainly didn't need all three so after much thought I sold the Fat Lady 2 which is their dread since the new Martin D-1 Custom would cover dread duties.

So that should have been it but right around Christmas after making the last payment on the Martin I found myself once again browsing on Reverb with no real intention of buying anything but rather just 'researching' potential 'someday/retirement' guitars when this little beauty popped up! It arrived on Christmas Eve. 2006 Froggy Bottom H-12 Deluxe Adi/EIR sunburst:

I don't even want to list mine. It would acknowledge I have a problem.

I ordered a guitar in 2020. I won't get it until 2021. It's Drew Heinonen SJ WITH Cedar/ Madagascar Rosewood with plenty of beautiful green shell trim, and a Forest Green Hoffee case with the insulated case cover.
I can't wait for Springtime for two reasons. It's 24 F today, so I'm lookin' for some 60 degree weather and my SJ to fill my days with some acoustic playin' time!

Nice score!! If you think it sounds great now, wait another 12 months or so when it's settled and opening up!

Mine was sounding better, but I didn't really notice a huge difference until I played it back to back with my previous gigging guitar, which has languished in it's case since I bought the Nashville.

I love seeing all the pics! My only transaction was a Collings 01 traded (plus cash) for a Collings 02h. I was sad to see the 01 go because it’s featherlight and has a big voice for its size, but I was happy to acquire the 02h, which has its own great voice and i could stare at it all day.

It was a mixed year for me.

I decided I needed to work on rockabilly so that meant a Gretsch 6120. But hey, three are better than one, right? So I got a classic orange 6120, a Setzer HotRod in Purple, and another HotRod in Sparkle Anti-freeze Green.

Then in November I got a couple of Taylors, a 324ce and a 224ce-K Dlx.

But I’ve been good so far this year. Only one guitar so far.
