It has arrived safe and sound. More beautiful in person than any photo can convey. I tuned her up and this thing is pure magic. I just can't believe how the Texas Kinnaird's can coax such a sweet tone from wood. I am going to take some pictures and spend an hour playing and I'll be back with my NGD report. No other way to put it ... I am giddy. A big ole grin on my face!

I am so tickled I don't know what to do with myself. Think I'll just play all night.
Just look at this thing! Perfect in every detail. I wish every one of you could hear how sweet this thing sounds. And the setup is perfect for me. Here are some pics for you. A sound review will have to wait until I've had a month or so but from what I'm hearing now ... I'm sold on the Kinnaird signature tone. Wow!

  Steve's signature is inlaid with the same tinted Maple used on the fretboard and rosette. I just can't imagine how delicate this was to handle.   The Alessi tuners are smooth as silk and just amazing to look at.

Oh my Dennis. Are you kidding me. That thing is glorious in its details and yet as a whole is better than all its parts!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me just list what I love: 1) The open headstock. 2) The inlay on the headstock. 3) The tuners are amazingly beautiful and I usually could give two hoots about tuners. 4) The inlay of Steve's signature, now how the heck is that even done!!!! The thickness of the inlay matches that of a pen stroke where some of the lines are thicker than others like it was drawn on there! 5) The burst, let me just say, I don't like bursts, UNTIL TODAY that is. 6) The purfling is amazing. 7) The contrast and simplicity of the arm bevel as it plays off the details of the guitar. 8) The back and side woods!!! Are you kidding, that is some of the most beautiful stuff I have ever seen. It rivals that waterfall bubinga guitar Steve shows sometimes at his shows for the pure outstanding factor. 9) The rosette, the little black lines in the blue dots some of which look like birds flying across a blue sun! 10) The tree of life, done by the same guy who did Martin's one millionth guitar, not too many people can say that. 11) The photography, beautiful I think you get my point! What a great job! What I don't like: 1) It's yours and not mine

Dennis, throughout this build I followed along quite closely and kept wanting to add a comment yet found my words lacking as each new detail was shown. There are just so many amazing features to see and you made the journey very intimate for the reader. Congratulations to Steve and Ryan for an amazing effort. Then the sound, which was just wonderful, even on my iPad ... lol. May you have many years of enjoyment playing this guitar.

Again, thanks folks. Did I mention that Dennis was fun to work with? I just ran across some initial correspondence about this guitar. This is how it started:
   I'm thinking of these colors, Dennis said. Can we incorporate these colors? Sort of a Southwest theme, color wise. My brother lives in Arizona, and I love the area, so.... And that was our start. From that to Dennis' new guitar. Now, there were a few more conversations between, of course. This is an example of what makes the collaboration between luthier and client so much fun. Steve
