One thing that Romo said in the 3rd or 4th quarter. He said that if Mahomes can bring KC back to win then the SB rings are Brady 6, Mahomes 2 and "it's doable" for Mahomes to catch up to the 6. Mahomes is an amazing player as are the Chiefs but does everyone really think that 6 SB wins for anyone is "doable"? Brady aside because he's already there but I don't see any QB getting 6 SB wins.

I mean, I don't like to call people out because it's a tough job, but Reid has consistently done that kind of thing over the course of his entire career.

Others can have differing opinions, but in my opinion, he's a great play designer, but his game management and in game adjustments aren't that good and have never been that good. Mahomes bailed him out a bit last year in my mind.

Of course your O line has to be good.

We can only hope for another Brady-like draft pick.

I say Mahomes will get no more than 3 more rings for the rest of his career. He’s gonna be more like Rodgers than Brady. His numbers will always be amazing and he will lead many great seasons, but the big prize will slip away more often than his talent suggests.

It will be difficult in my estimation. Mahomes depends a lot on his mobility, something that Brady was never really known for. I think that makes Mahomes and others like him (i.e. Jackson from the Ravens) more vulnerable to serious injuries. They pile up, especially in football. Brady has been relatively lucky in this regard. He was out for 2008, but other than that, he’s been pretty injury free. It’s almost like these mobile QBs are more explosive, especially the talented ones like Mahomes, but they need to take advantage of their opportunities because their windows may not be open for as long.
Maybe that’s an overly simplistic viewpoint, but you have to be around a lot of years to reach that kind of hardware. You’re not going to make it to the big show every year. It’s a team game too. So many variables.
Brady’s legacy is looking pretty secure I think.

Congrats to Brady and the Bucs - they outplayed the Chiefs. These are not excuses: Mahomes was playing with a turf toe injury for which he will be getting surgery and months of rehab in the off season. His girlfriend is also due to deliver at any time. Andy Reid's son (an assistant coach) was in a major auto accident (possibly DUI) a couple days before the game. Lost to injuries were two key offensive lineman and running backs. All that kind of stuff adds up.

I agree. I can see Mahomes has the potential to put up all time career numbers but winning a championship will be far more difficult.

Hey Andre, great post. QB Mobility makes it very difficult on defenders but injuries tend to climb.

Interesting stat: Mahomes "ran" for 497 yards in the SB by scrambling (highest by any QB this season) but he only had 33 actual yards rushing. That's gotta tire you out. Brady had something like 30 yards that he "ran" (I don't have the exact figure).

A few impressions:

Bucs simply played better football.

Mahomes threw some excellent passes even as he was getting sacked. That takes cajones and skill.

America the Beautiful and the National Anthem would've both sounded much better without all the extra dramatic buffalo dust thrown in.

The Weeknd has now explained those were bandages, not jockstraps.

I turned down the sound for the half time show and watched.
I thought I was having acid flashbacks.

...just kidding about the acid part.
