fitness1,

The listing says the NECK is:
• Laminated Honduran mahogany/rosewood/snakewood neck

The listing does not say what woods the fingerboard or bridge are.........please point that out to me if I am missing it.

Thank you

Says snakewood on the binding, but I don't think the fretboard and bridge are.

The system may have some issues. I emailed using the email listed under your contact info (perhaps it has lapsed and needs to be updated?) and I sent a PM. Frustrating for us both...and how many more?

Maybe at least check and see if your listed email is still correct. I just copied and pasted it.

Mark Kunkel was kind enough to find this info in his notes at the time of the build. Info from Steve:

I used some gorgeous flamed, marbled ebony for the fingerboard, and the front and rear headstock plates. The FB and headstock are bound with Snakewood, with the same Canary wood purflings I used around the periphery of the top. It's a very elegant, but understatedly sumptuous theme.
I just ordered the Gotoh tuners--510 minis, Cosmo Black finish. They will look great on the new design, asymmetric multiscale headstock.

..............

I was thinking Ebony but was not positive. The bridge is also from the same material

Thanks again Mark and thanks to Robbypad for the question

Default A bump and a fond endorsement...

This guitar is special. All of them are, in their own ways, but this guitar has that sort of elegant masterful spirit and vision and execution of that vision that make it special indeed.

Steve (Edwin's Son) is one of those precious souls who, for those lucky enough to know him, is a gift and a blessing. He is so fundamentally good, and so fundamentally talented and passionate and committed, that his guitars are just (and wonderfully) an outgrowth of his personhood. His vocation is alive in every one of these creations.

So with fond appreciation for its qualities, immense gratitude for the way it was a part of our lives for so long, and more than a little envious admiration for the next custodian, I pass along my enthusiastic endorsement of this guitar.

Mark

Steve is a gem of a human, and I am sure he would welcome discussion with the next owner. Glad I own mine, sounds better every day...but would have loved to own this one if I wasn’t having one built for me. Very rich, full sound, a pleasure to play and hear.
