That depends on what you mean by wrong.Taylor is a company. A company's first priority is to make money. If you're going to use oil at all (and Ive seen some pretty good arguments around here to say there's no need at all and also that over applying it can be detrimental to the glue holding your fretboard on) I would stick to something that would leave a lot less residue than linseed oil. Something like lemon oil or eucalyptus oil. Yes it will cost more than linseed oil but if you're not a company you probably dont need to worry about that. And then there's the issue of filthing up your strings. I'm not saying that Taylor's got it wrong. A light application of linseed oil occasionally probably wont be the end of the earth, only that there are better choices and one of them might be not using any oil.
