Default changing string gauge

Hi guys! Hmm, not sure if i've posted at the right section, but hope you guys can help me. How do i change the string gauge of my guitar? from .11 to .12, what sorts of adjustment do i need? Thanks in advance

What guitar? Yamaha's are built for 12's work great with 11's. An 1890 Martin will implode of you put on 12's, switch to 10's
If you have a custom guitar and the nut is "tuned" to 11's your trenches will need filed ever so slightly and the saddle sanded ever so slightly to have the same set up you currently have.
But, if the custom guitar is braced so light it wants 11's we are back to the implosion thing.

heh, i'm just using a cheap factory made guitar, a cort, i suppose i have to widden the nut spacing for the strings and turn the truss rod?
