Todd, that’s the name that kept coming to mind. I remember they advertise discounts.

Those days, I wouldn’t have considered buying sight unseen. But I remember my buddy ordered a hard tail strat from Sam Ash (phone order, paid by cashier’s check) sometime around 76.

That's the page I saw, but I couldn't tell for sure until I saw the inside - there was a particular way they had the gear listed that would be very telling.

I also saw an "Ace Musical Supply" or similar that rang a little bell.

Warehouse Music owner Slim Richey was quite a character and a noted jazz guitarist.

I don't know how true it is, but I'd heard he used to have a music store in Norman, OK where Alan Munde gave banjo lessons and Jesse Ed Davis taught guitar. I ordered a Telecaster from Warehouse Music back in the late '70s. Took 3 months to get it because I think it was drop-shipped directly from Fender.

Yes, I believe it was called Mike Richey's in Norman Oklahoma.

He was a major player in promoting progressive bluegrass.

He headed up Ridge Runner Records that featured bluegrass greats such as Alan Munde/Country Gazette, Bill Keith, Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Byron Berline, Roland White.

He also pioneered video instructional materials for Bluegrass.
