Congrats Matt! I had an Eastman E 8om several years ago and it was a really nice guitar, and this we before they have stepped up their game. Really happy for you!

Matt, I think I remember taking about your E8 back in the day! I owned a standard E8OM for a brief time, but wasn’t happy with it and traded it for an E20D I believe. Sigh....what a tangled web of GAS I’ve woven!

Those TC-topped models are in a league of their own.

Congrats on a really nice guitar!

I’ve played some Huss and Dalton’s and Collings In stores with TC/baked tops, but this is the first Eastman TC I’ve played or owned. It is special, indeed! If memory serves, it seems much more lively than the E8OM I purchased and returned many years ago, especially in the mid range. Obviously, memory isn’t the same as having it in hand to compare! However, that could be more a result of the individual guitars, wood, etc than the TC. The overall package of this Eastman is head and shoulders above any I’ve had before, and that, too, must contribute to the tone. Whatever it is, whatever the cause, I like it!

I hope to find time to record some samples with it soon!

Congratulations. I love my E8OM-TC. I swapped out a Taylor 414CE for it and definitely made the right choice.

I've had my Eastman E8om-tc for a few weeks now and I'm really happy with it. I was playing it and a Martin special D that I had bought just a few weeks ago from M. Friend. I was just going back and forth between the 2 guitars. After playing a little while I asked my wife what she thought. She said she preferred the Eastman over the Martin. To be honest after comparing the 2 guitars I felt the same way. Eastman is making some ex. guitars. I sent the Martin back. My Eastman is going no where. Pretty nice of your friend to do that.

Much obliged! I think you made the right choice, too!

Congrats on yours as well! You’ve got quite the Eastman stable! These E8OM TCs are pretty special!

You won't get any argument from me. If I had to choose between my E20om or my E8om-tc of which to sale, I'm really not sure which one I'd pick. Thankfully, I dont have to do that. Enjoy your E8om-tc. I have been playing mine almost everyday since I got it. I put Martin 80/20 bronze on it after I had it a few days and they sound really good. I'm going to put some daddario P. bronze on it next to see which I like the best. I have a feeling they will both sound good on my E8om.

I have never cared for 80/20 over the years, but dang if these XT 80/20 don’t sound great! I’ll definitely try some PBs as well as Martin Retros or Daddario Nickel bronze, just to see. But these set the bench Mark quite high!

Very nice. I played an Eastman OM for the first time a couple days ago and was amazed by the sound and feel of the guitar. Enjoy!

Beautiful guitar! The E8's are my favorite Eastmen.
