Default New BlueCheck Ampegs

What a cool updated look to a true classic design.
What say you, Mr. DeRosa?

I like it. Reminds me of Louis Vuitton's "Damier" pattern ( I used to restore vintage LV trunks).

All I can see is my ‘63 Ampeg Jet that was made right over in Linden, NJ. Just an historic look with a current spin. That recreation of the check vinyl is perfect.

Don't know if you've done any background research, but they're a lineup of ultra-lightweight Class-D/neo-speaker amps designed to compete model-for-model with the Fender Rumble and Gallien-Krueger MB offerings (and strategically priced between them), with a partial nod to classic mid-60's Ampeg cosmetics; probably sound very much the same as their competitors - loads of headroom and power-per-pound with similar controls - but IMO had they gone with the first-series Rocket Bass chassis cosmetics (chrome control panel/stovetop knobs) to complete the look, they'd be selling them as fast as they could make them. Personally, I would've preferred to see Ampeg take on G-K's Fusion uber-combos head-on, with a similar lightweight hybrid 3x12AX7 preamp/mega-power Class-D amp design but with classic Ampeg "big-amp" controls and voicing: think of it as a $1200, 40-pound 1x15" SVT combo that fits in the back seat of your Fiat 500 (a ported, front-panel cab patterned after the rare '69 Gemini GV-15 would complete the look nicely) - and I can't think of a single bass player I've ever met (myself included) who wouldn't kill for something like this...

Personally I think they should just make Reverbrockets like the old ones (the first gen early 60's 6v6 models) and I'd be hooked! I bought one of the handwired Jets they made (about 15 years ago) and it sounded nothing like the original, and was based on the original brownface Fender Deluxe circuit. A good sounding amp for sure but nothing like a cool Ampeg!

As I say this, I'm sitting here jamming on a new electric guitar project that I'm working on, through my pre blue diamond '61 Mercury!
