Default Alternate strings fora CEO-7

Been using Retros for some time and thinking of trying something different.

What have you been playing on your CEO-7?

Of everything I've had on it, I think it likes the LifeSpans the best.

I've been using Retros on mine. I've tried Newtone, the LifeSpans that came with it, JP 700, and a couple of others. I prefer the Retros by a pretty wide margin for this guitar.

Anyone ever tried Elixirs or MSP4100s on their CEO-7?

I'm going to try a set of Retros this week...

Been using retros and they are really good especially after a few weeks and they are staying that way with no sign of going bad after 4 months of use. The other strings I like as well are John Pearce 600L.
I have tried a lot and these 2 are the King for me. They are also way different from each other.
Think like the retros are like a great Tele, quick and to the point with great balance with what you play good or bad comes thru. You are rewarded with good playing.
John Pearce are like a Gibson 335, lots of overtones, balanced and more spacey but you can get lost in the mix.

I don't have the CEO7

But give the new D'Adarrio Nickle/bronze a try - I think I like em a bit more than the retros.

EJ16 might just sound great too-

Have fun

madhat.

I have tried at least 7 different string sets on my CEO-7 over the 2+ years I've had it. In the end I returned to the Martin Lifespan lights and also use John Pearse PB lights.

For the most part these strings sound fairly similar - but the JPs break in much faster and sound terrific after a couple of hours play (Martin LifeSpans take a week to settle in for me). BUT the Lifespans last much longer than the JPs so... trade offs.

Since putting them on my CEO7, I haven't been tempted to stray from the Retros ether. If I did, I'd try tome Pearse PBs, just because they sound good on almost anything.

I've gotten stuck on the retros for my own CEO-7 -- just put another set on.

Try the JP pure Nickels (John Pearse 960L/980M). Very similar to Retros, but I think even less coloring (more fundamental) of guitars sound; last just as long too.

I like lifespans on it. Tried Retros but they didn't sound good. Too thin and jangly for me. I'm going to try Elixirs next.

I usually use Retros or JP steels on mine but I also like JP phosphor bronze a lot. I have some JP silk and bronze coming and plan to try them on the CEO-7 for a change of pace. The CEO-7 is great for all sorts of strings except I just can't get used to the feel of D'Addarios.
