Default walnut back thickness

How thin can I safely get on the back with walnut? I got some from a friend and its really thin. I've sanded it down to around 0.100 and not all the saw marks are quite out yet.

I built mine with the back between .085 and .090 (a little thin for me), but I've had no problems. Admittedly it was straight-grained black walnut, not an off quarter or curly piece, but I think you could get it at least .10 thinner with no effect.

I'm usually about .085-.090.
