2016 Martin HD-28 [Chicago]
This is a 2016 Martin HD28. In 2016 many of the dreadnought models featured a "Centennial" stamp on the neck block near the serial number to commemorate the 100th year after the introduction of the Dreadnought battleships.
Specs: - Sitka top and East Indian Rosewood back & sides. - Neck and blocks are mahogany. - 1-11/16'' nut. Center shifted scalloped - 5/16" sitka bracing. - Grover Rotomatic tuners - Light aging toner, not as orange as the Reimagined series post 2018 - Strap pin installed on the heel Condition: - End block drilled to 1/2" to fit a pickup system. Sale does not include a pickup. Endpin hole is nice and clean. - Some top marks near the pickguard close to the high E, see photo - Top is free of cracks and has been properly humidified - Frets are fresh and have plenty of life left - Finish chip on the lower top bout around the binding, see photo - Guitar has been gigged and features play wear but has been well cared for and is structurally sound - Plastic Martin case in great shape and included. Sound: Compared to other D28 and HD28 models, I believe this guitar to be slightly quieter and woodier. Still plenty loud, but not loud like fresh Adirondack. It has the loose scalloped feeling and does not bore through with great focus like a straight braced D28. Feels like a good, old, D28. Fingerpicks wonderfully. The top sounds old in a good way. The voice is open and chimey, "scooped" EQ with a great bass response. Photos: https://imgur.com/a/zbSsg8v Last edited by asilker; 03-05-2021 at 05:53 PM. |

This is sold. For public record, I pulled out of a deal with @tulver who did a great job communicating and was a good buyer. I got weird around shipping and that's on me. @tulver is an A+ buyer, I am perhaps a bad seller and so for now I am pulling my other ads.
Thanks folks. |
