Default Boss Br1600 or Tascam DP24?

I'd like to get some views on which unit might be easier to use for a novice and which might be more for feature laden. I can acquire a used Boss for less than the price of a new DP24. Any comments welcome.

Boss is notoriouis for menu after menu, leading to a hassle for me to do on the fly recording. I hate menus.

Tascam has tried to do away with menus to produce a more intuitive interface.

Thats the main difference.

That's helpful! I appreciate easy.
I know the DP24 hasn't been around long but I would guess that it's similar to the 2488Neo so maybe there will be more people who can add their take on the subject.

Hello Good ole boy

I just took delivery of the new Tascam DP24 3 days ago and this thing is really sweet.....Intuitive to be sure.....Semi-Large Colored Display....on Board CD mix down....Midi Capability (Zoom R24 is not)......I use a Korg Triton Extreme so Mid is real important to me...Syncs up like a champ.

Lets see 24 tracks, not 16, which the Boss is...... Included in the 24 tracks are 6 stereo tracks, which is really cool.....

I haven't had my own in house recorder in 15 years and I'm making real good headway on a couple of tracks at the moment....I steered clear from Computers cause I just want to get something done and not worry about latency, preamps, software etc....

This Tascam DP24 is EVERYTHING you need to complete a professional CD....

I got mine for $699.....I personally would rather have new gear......

This thing is absolutely awesome
