Wow, Mike--that rosette is very tasteful and stunning.

The bearclaw replacement top looks pretty darn good too!

Here is the latest update from Patrick on the build. The bracing is in place and, like everything else, very clean and refined.

Looking good, Mike!

I'm digging the herringbone purfling side reinforcement strips--cool!

Thanks Kevin! The first time I saw Patrick introduce that idea I thought WOW how cool. Just that added element that few will ever see except in this stage of the build...or thru the sound port of course

Thanks again everyone for the nice comments. I just got a BUNCH of nice pictures from Patrick. What Patrick has been working on is the binding and purfling idea I wanted, as well as the arm bevel and the sound port. I think Patrick did a GREAT job with the miters, and there's a fair number of them to have to get right. I understand that this is not easy to get them to match up like this.

I'll try to give a streamlined version of the many pictures I have of this to show the progress highlights:

Box is closed!

Channels in for binding/purfling scheme

A little naptha added to show some color, and the ****e teflon spacer preparing the way for the radial purfling

End graph to match the Rosette

Purfling and Binding completed

Here's another look at the body of the guitar, but also showing the thin understated arm bevel.

A closer look at the Rosette and the binding

Added some Naptha to show the color of the Rosette and the complimentary purfling

That purfling is really special--looks great with the rosette and ties in nicely with the entire color palette.

Thanks Doug! I push Patrick for as many pics as I can get to show the colors, as I too am anxious to see it under finish

Thank you Kevin! I'm not sure where Patrick comes up with these interesting wood options, but he has a BUNCH of color choices in some really cool woods. This was satisfying to me but there were a few others that had me tempted...I'm a sucker for pretty wood
