I received my new Fishman pick up yesterday.
Very, very impressed with the super quick delivery time from eBay seller Bluestarmusic.
Considering I stuffed up the initial order by purchasing the wide format, Ted Blue was helpful enough to ensure the Narrow format was sent to me with minimal fuss.
Now to wait until September when I can install the pickup into my new guitar build!!

For those curious about the weight of the kit, it weighs 117grams/4.1oz without the battery.

Great photos. I assume I could just route those battery wires to the existing 9v cutout in my Martin, right?

Thanks Chris, most appreciated.
Depending on the location of your battery, I can't see why it wouldn't work.
Check out page 6 on the installation guide to get an idea of the wiring layout. Surprisingly this is not included in the box.

Zandit, much thanks. I've been on a quest to replace the Sonitone on my Marti GPRS1.

Hi all. A friend took some short clips of me playing last night at a local pub, so I thought I'd share if you're interested in the Fishman Matrix Infinity Mic Blend. To be clear, it's smartphone video, with plenty of pub chatter, so perhaps it's best to listen with headphones.

The setup was my J-15 with the Fishman (mic blended just a bit less than the midpoint notch), going into a Grace BiX (with some EQ tweaks), into a Fishman Loudbox Mini (with a small cut of the mids), with an XLR out the back straight into the very old PA (where all was set flat). For the record, I had a number of folks, many of whom have been watching me play for years, say they thought it sounded great. I was happy, for sure. I look forward to getting the setup into a nicer venue with better stage gear. Anyway, here's the video:

I like it! Super-helpful, especially with the multiple angles. Stupid question: Are you using the Loudbox Mini as a monitor?

Thanks for posting and well done there by the way, both of you. Nice light touch on the harmonies; when I'm singing behind someone I always have to restrain myself from singing at "11."

Thanks! Yes, I'm using the Loudbox Mini as a monitor. In this particular pub (which I've played many times), I basically use the amp as the mixer (guitar and my vocals), and then run the line out to the really old PA, which we then use to control the overall master volume. The only downside with that setup is that my duo-mate has to have her mic go directly into the PA, which is a pain, simply because of its deficits.

Nice one pmarino, thanks for sharing!
8 weeks time, I'll be able to share a video of my own!! Getting nervous now! Hopefully this build comes together just right.
For those who may be interested in seeing what I've got planned, check out my thread below.

Hmmm, I was on another forum discussing this pickup, and I shared the installation guide for their perusal, but while I was flicking through it, I noticed that the mic location has been moved from the south of the soundhole to right beside the mic control module, towards the neck.
I wonder what this is in aid of?

That is interesting. That’s approximately where the mic goes in the DTAR Wavelength systems. So, I would expect it to sound similar.

I sent Fishman an email the other day about the change in location for the mic, as mentioned by Zandit75. I told them that I had mine installed in the original location (bridge side of the sound hole) and that I wanted to know why they were now recommending the new location. Here's the email I just received from their support:

"We had done some additional testing and found the neck position to have a slightly warmer tone for the mic. It will still work fine where you have it, but if you need a little more warmth from the mic, you may want to switch it to the neck position. If you need further help, let me know."

I think I'll keep mine where it is for now, but I guess there's always the option to move it if I decide later.
