Sage, that is a gorgeous pair of guitars. Two real beauties.

My 1994 PRS modded with newer Schaller tuners without the wings and Wolfetone Dr V and Marshallhead pickups. It gets the job done...

The lesson here is, don't let anyone at GC touch your guitar with tools.

Have it set up by a reputable tech.

I made the mistake of peeking into this thread a couple weeks ago. I'm now the proud owner of a PRS SE McCarty Singlecut. I didn't need another guitar but I'm glad I've got this one. Wow! It punches way above its price. After just 1 week it's in the running for my favorite guitar.

I'm delighted to hear this. The SE McCarty Singlecut appears to be the pick of the litter in their 2023 line. I might add the SE DGT to that, as well, based on reviewer comments. I'm still happy with the stupid little SE245 I got on sale in December. Cost next to nothing and has the best left hand of any guitar I've ever played. However, the legend that they arrive perfect from the factory turned out not to be true. I had to tweek both the intonation and the action...not seriously, but enough to make a difference.

Playability was decent on mine right out of the box, but I did tweak it for neck relief and bridge height just a smidge for personal preference. I'll revisit intonation at the next string change and I think it'll be good to go then.
