I have a pair of these. MF routinely offers these as a Stupid Deal of the Hour or Day for $39.95 for the pair. For the price, they are excellent. Personally, I only play at home, and only use these in my music room, so I don't have to recase a guitar until I'm done with my session.

I would think twice before putting a $3,500 guitar on a twenty-dollar stand.

Vox clamatis in deserto.

I love my stand.

Rather than a cheap stand....get an expensive dog.

I used to have the stand that the OP wrote about until I lost it. I can honestly say that I never had a problem with it. I used it in my home and on stage. It was never in an environment, though, where children or pets were around it. I'd still be using it today if I hadn't lost it.

I ,too, like those stands; they are much more stable and easier to use than OP's stand (which I also own). I don't leave guitars in stands for too long though; only long enough between breaks because (as stable as they are) they aren't foolproof. I normally keep my guitars on racks, which are impossible to knock over.

I also like K&M stands, and they are the only ones I use for my acoustics these days. I have never had one tip over.

That having been said, I never have more than two acoustics out on stands at once, and the rest of them live in their cases.
