St Louis is the only place where I ever saw billboards on the approaching Interstate warning people of a certain social disease that took the life of Al Capone . The peanuts at their ballpark were like little brown chunks of salt . I have been to Boston and that town has nothing on the Gateway to the West . By the way , you have a neat ballpark . What a shame that a bunch of perennial losers have to play there . A few times every 100 years fails to qualify as a dynasty . |

Hee hee, Otterhound. I am keeping track and putting it on the record. Should I mark you down for the Bruins hate list? Thank you in advance for your swift responce. Bookkeeping can be a nightmare under these circumstances.

Ha! Sorry. A simple oversight as we are in the process of updating our books. This mistake will not happen again. I assure you.

Do you mean the white ones? I left them over on the tennis thread. They were donated to a Ranger which I thought was nice.

Congratulations St. Louis. I am heartbroken but you deserved the win tonight. All my animosity is now relieved. A weight off my chest. Great series. Some really great hockey. Pretty clean game tonight. My hat is off to St. Louis.

Not a hockey fan, but I watched parts of game 6 and most of tonight. Couldn’t believe Boston didn’t score a few goals in that first period and that St. Louis managed to get two in despite almost no shots on goal. Glad to see St. Louis win for the city, the franchise, and Craig Berube, who really deserved it. And nothing against the Bruins, but Boston has been winning too much lately - they didn’t need this near as much as St. Louis... Congratulations to the Blues...

Well done, St. Louis! Well earned, well deserved. Binnington stood on his head when it really counted which is what a goalie must be able to do to help the team earn the big prize. Congrats to the team and all their fans!
Man, I love hockey. Best sport on earth! Now...GO RAPTORS!!!

Binnington was amazing. I think he should have won Conn Smythe. Bruins were all over him in the first but couldn't get anything by him.
Congrats to the Blues. Amazing that they were in last place in the NHL in Jan and now they're hosting the Cup. |

I agree, Dru. The cup wouldn’t have been theirs had he not performed at his absolute best.

Fun series to watch. I'm happy the Blues won, mostly because of how bad it makes Mike Yeo look. He's my least favorite coach since his days with the Wild.
Okay, on to next season. Here's some early Stanley Cup odds put out by NBCSN. I'm shocked at how high they have the Avs. TB 6/1 VGK 7/1 BOS 10/1 COL 10/1 TOR 10/1 STL 14/1 SJ 16/1 WPG 16/1 CGY 20/1 PIT 20/1 WSH 20/1
