Talking NGD- First Collings!!!

Good afternoon all,

As the title says I got my first ever Collings!!! It is a D1 with a Baked top and other custom options.

I have been playing it since it arrived early this afternoon and have not stopped!! I have been wanting a Collings to compliment my Martin CEO-7 for some time but I didn't think it was happening for a while. I have played a few D1's and other Collings' in my area but they didn't have what I was looking for.

I have been away from the forum for a couple months and recently came back just to see what was new and happening and I happened to find Kori's (Kh1967) listing for a D1 with a baked top on the classifieds so I reached out to her. She is a great person to deal with. She made the whole process smooth and as easy as possible and I couldn't thank her enough for the wonderful guitar. It is exactly what you described. I hope to play it and enjoy it as much as you did.

The guitar plays great and sounds great to boot. It was everything that I had envisioned in my head.

Without further ado here are some pictures of the Collings with my Martin:

Thank you all

-let me get back to playing

-Scott

Scott,

I am so happy that you are so happy! That brings me a lot of pleasure.

As you know, this guitar was tough for me to let go. It is such an outstanding guitar. However, knowing it went to you helps to soften the blow. :-)

I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come. And, thank you for being such a pleasure to work with!

Play on!

Kori

While I'm very happy for you, I must admit to a wee bit of "Oh, why not me"!!??! Just a wee bit though! Seriously, congratulations on two fine instruments. May you play them in good health.

Congrats - enjoy the heck out of that thing!

Great pick up there! Gorgeous looking top on that D1. And Kori is pretty picky too so I know you got a good one.

All the best!

Thank you all for the kind words. I hope I can live up to the Collings name. :-)

I will treasure the guitar for as long as I have it. Thank you Kori for all the nice words.

Orfeas- the guitar stand is made by Zither Guitar Company. They are extremely well made and made out of solid wood. They are worth the extra money. I got the mahogany to match my guitars.

Thank you,
-Scott

If it grows on you to the point where the CEO7 is not getting any love, reach out! I almost bought one of those on two separate occasions.

Congrats on the score!
