Well, it turned out to be the gain staging on the guitar channel. I was running much too much gain and the channel fader very low. I will chalk it up to inexperience on my part. I have much to learn about getting a decent sound into the iPad, and into garage band too.
What did Clint Eastwood say? “A man’s got to know his limitations.”
I think I should stick to being a sideman and let the knowledgeable folks do the recording!
