Thank you Rick!

How nice of you to comment in such a generous way. Thank you! I really appreciate hearing from you, from a fellow musician.

Thanks too for your comments on the video, in general. I was going to look for some really artistic images of moss on roofs, because there are so many all around me where I live, including my own house. But in the end, these photos just didn't look all that great. And when I thought of moss, I thought about what the woods all around me look like because I live right on the edge of the Olympic rain forest. In the end the best photos I could think of are of the Olympic rain forest around Lake Quinault and the Hoh River. So that's what I used. I must say when I first produced a trial rendering of the video, I was surprised and delighted about how lush and green the rain forest looked behind me. It was just one of those lucky trials that worked out.

Thanks for your very supportive comments, Rick. They are greatly appreciated!

Hi Glenn! Another wonderful job......the playing, singing and chord structure you've put together is just beautiful. LOVE the beautiful screen shot behind you!! I could live with that as a permanent visual for all your tunes!!! Such depth and beauty!
Enjoy the day,

Thank you Fred!

I'm really pleased that you feel that this came out okay! It was one of those songs for me that just sort of fell into place fairly easily. Singing the song was a much bigger challenge than figuring out how to play it on the guitar.

I'm also pleased that you liked the visual of the Olympic rain forest behind me in the song. I was rather dumbfounded at how good this ended up looking myself. Sometimes accidents like this just seem to work out.

There is a lot of depth in the rain forest. All that moss, both on the ground and then the Spanish moss coming down from the trees... And when the sun filters through, as it does in that particular photo, it can be quite magical in the deep woods.

I did enjoy the day. I hope you did, too!

Hi Woodenstrings!

Thank you! I really appreciate your show of support in a comment like this, because I have wondered, maybe I am posting new videos too often. Maybe people on the AGF are just tired of stuff from me. So it's reassuring to see your comment. I'm really pleased that you thought this came out okay.

Thanks so much for taking the time! I hope all is well for you!

Thanks for this post Glen. I have always liked Elton John's music but never tried to learn it on guitar because it is so piano oriented.

My wife and I just watched "RocketMan" and were blown away by the music. The scene where he walks in on his future piano teacher playing a classical
score and he plays it back actually happened in another degree.

Anyway, I am left wondering how to incorporate wonderful Bernie Taupin poetry into amazing Elton John music and you come up with this wonderful gem!

Thanks again for posting

As I said elsewhere, EXCELLENT Glenn mate! A wonderful take on (arguably) one of the greatest songs ever written...well done.

Hi CK,

Thank you for your thoughtful comments! I'm glad you thought this arrangement worked out okay.

I have not seen the movie "RocketMan." I'd like to.

I was also wondering before I took "Your Song" on how I was going to do this, that is, play a piano song on the guitar. But music is music, and though there can be difficulties translating music from one style to another, from one instrument to another, a person ought to be able to make this transition. But before I started on this, I felt a fair amount of trepidation.

But for whatever reason, this fell into place fairly easily, within an hour or two of effort, if I remember correctly. When I came to the place of recording this, I realized that singing this accurately was the harder aspect of this song. I have to give a lot of credit to Elton John for making this song into the song it became.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, CK! It's greatly appreciated!

Thank you David!

I greatly appreciated your commenting both here on the AGF and on YouTube! That kind of support is really appreciated!

"Your Song" is a great song. I'm honored to have had the chance to do something with this and to have a few people appreciate it.

Thanks so much David!

Once again - fine arrangement, moving vocals and clean, articulate picking. Thanks, Glenn.

BTW, for my money, the very best version of this song was by Lena Horne. .

Hi Frostie!

Thank you! I'm pleased that you thought this worked out okay.

I did a search for Lena Horne + Your Song and couldn't find anything on YouTube. Maybe it's not there. There is one called "A Song For You" but it's definitely a different song from "Your Song." I will keep my eyes open for this. Man, I haven't heard Lena Horne in a long time -- great voice and power.

Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment Frostie!

I’ve been a admirer of your work but never felt the need to comment...until now. This is excellence! The singing, the playing and even the choice of background.
Unfortunately you have set a new standard which you now have to top, and that's the challenge.
Dig deep...
