Default NGD & Oh My....

First of all I should say that I stopped doing NGDs simply because there's been a lot of coming and going of guitars through the Porter cabin. Having said that, I've purchased (and sold) a number of Rainsong H-DR1100N2s; but they still remain a favored guitar. I like the feel, the tone, the playability. So when I recently found myself lacking one of these, I considered replacing it.

Normally I'm a pretty conservative guy when it comes to guitar cosmetics, but there was something about this tobacco burst Rainsong dread that really grabbed me. One never knows how well internet pix accurately portray the real thing, but I was assured that it looked even better in "real life." Did it?

YES, it definitely did. As far as playability, feel and tone go, it was everything I've come to expect from Rainsong. I tried a "clear" pick guard which really looked kind of muddy before installing the black one shown. Not sure if it was a one-off or what, but it's got a 12-fret neck with shark inlay. Very cool! in short, mmmm I really like it....

Very nice! Everyone says it's the "woodiest" guitar of the Rainsong lineup.

Congrats on the new guitar! Seems you have "a type" and have found the look that does it for you. Enjoy!

I wish I could live with 12 frets and no cutaway. That has got to be RainSongs biggest sounding instrument from what I've experienced with other models.

The 12 fret neck seems to make RainSongs less bright and the fat waist of a dreadnought is typically good for bass response too. However I've never played a RainSong jumbo. I think Ted at LA Guitars has stocked 12-fret jumbos on occasion.
