Actually, I’m quite glad this one popped up again. I have an old Hondo electric I play slide on. It’s great with heavier strings and a straight slide, but a bit touchy with normal gauges. I know it’s most likely my technique, but a flared slide like the Eric Sardinas model might just do the trick. Now to find one somewhere…

Just a note to say that our radiused slide is now one of our standard designs - the Concord - and is available in two sizes. Unlike most flared slides it has a precise circular radius (320mm / 12.6") machined into it, and has that straight section at the tip so it's not compromised for single-string work.

We even have a few Raven (black tungsten carbide/carbon) and Aurous (titanium nitride) coated Concords here that are not up on the website - just let me know if interested.

Cheers,
David

Yep another zombie thread but oh well I feel like typing after my 2 cups of coffee so...
I use a thick walled, fairly short (1 15/16") glass slide. I also own a longer (2 5/8") fairly heavy metal slide which I use less often because it's so heavy it feels less secure and awkward on my pinky. Thin walled slides do not work for me at all. I might get a flared slide sometime because I think they'd be good for playing songs that require lots of single string slides or maybe a slide with a closed rounded end. Lots of choices these days anyway. .
