Default Truss rod adjustment

After adjusting the truss rod, is the neck adjusted right away or is there a period of time before it fully adjusts itself?

It's usually immediate. Occasionally, on some instruments, it will settle a little. If so, just readjust as necessary.

Depends on the type of truss rod, double action rods are usually immediate, compression rods usually settle s little. That's a rule of thumb, there are exceptions to both types.

Whether it works or not, I usually give a little push/pull to help it along. Don't forget to re-tune before checking the relief after a truss rod adjustment.
