Hi Guys, hope you dont mind me posting a quick update.

We are coming close to the end of the competition and I know some of you have already entered, but theres still time.

Alistair updated the competition rules so everyone can enter even if you're not on social media. If you're not in you cant win

Just send a quick email across to [email protected] as mentioned in the video below.

What would you choose (other than satin finish guitars all round)?

How about a thin body heelless X20 nylon with fret board inlays?

I am also in the market for a resonator...

When I click the link this is what I get:

"An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: Xajv2VtClAf9X1Ku)

Trying again later didn't help.

Am I the first person to ask this question: since when did a Copper flame maple X30 appear in your signature?

Thanks for making this contest possible. I LOVE your guitars and it would be a dream come to, to win a guitar and a visit to Ireland.

Very pleased to see Alistair has heard our interest in low/no social media ways to enter, and made it happen in such a cool way. It's a very Alistair thing to do. And a great way to engage our community in Emerald's story in as broad a way as possible.

Email sent, and fingers crossed!

Have to say my respect for Emerald’s customers interface gone up several level this morning. I entered this competition/drawing with an email through their website after watching Alistair’s video posted here. Pretty much put it out of my mind. What’s the chances. An email from Simon showed up this morning, wishing me luck. That was unexpected. And definitely appreciated.

It was important to us that all our customers and fans have a chance.

Just a reminder that the competiton closes tomorrow and the winner will be annouced soon after that. Tomorrow is also St Patricks day, so may the luck of the Irish be with you

In other news, March select series is now out unveiling our new inlays... Inlays will be something that the winner of this competiton will be able to work with us to design and personalise for them!

My paternal ancestor Patrick (with same surname as I have) left Ireland in the late 1600s to come to America as an indentured servant. I have followed the genealogy back to him, but I know precious little about the family he left behind nor anything certain of the times before he left. There's some French and Hessian possibilities too, but nothing definite. When I was in Europe poking around I found Ireland spoke to me in a way few other places have, so I have a hunch along with some rather flimsy evidence a significant portion of my ancestors lived on the Emerald Isle a long time before our teenage Patrick stepped aboard a sailing vessel with his brother bound for the New World. My best guess has the most likely homestead area being a bit further south than Donegal near the west coast.

The X20 I got in 2013 spoke to me also. I tried other guitars after I got Remmy (for Red Emerald and yes I name things), but I keep coming back to her. My Kestrel is similar in feeling, but she is a completely different guitar that I still can't seem to put down these last few honeymoon months because of her velvety smooth tones. Haven't settled on a name quite yet either. Still I am ready to work with the Emerald team on the next dream guitar were I to win this wonderful opportunity. I have several dream guitars from Emerald I still ponder, so there is plenty of dreams to work on should I have the chance.

Good luck to everyone on this competition. Thank you to everyone at Emerald for giving us all a chance to dream and design.
