Well I was in the Marine Corps in my late teens and early twenties and I’ve kept some habits that I’m ocd about:
1) making my rack (bed) nice n tight
2) my clothes closet is in order by sleeve length and color
3) I triple check my home and car locks
4) double check my ac is off when I leave & lights are off
5) set my Wave Radio to exactly volume setting 53 for my cat while I’m out.
6) fold my bathroom sink towel in a certain way when I’m not using it.
7) my guitars are sitting in stands straight to the nth degree
8) my couch pillows are neat and symmetrical when I leave
Yeah I’d say I got it bad, I won’t bore you with keeping my books on the shelf straight LOL!!

Same here. I despise seeing stacks of stuff in the sink whenever my wife cooks (which is not often.) Clean while you cook, I say!

I’m very OCD about not being OCD (ok, i know it’s not really a thing). It definitely adds a bit of chaos and disorganization in my world. This can frustrate the folks in my world. Thankfully they love me anyway .

On second thought, I do have a bit of OCD when it comes to recording. I have to fight the need to to fix any and all perceived warts.

Washing and maintaining my vehicles. I'm not OCD by nature, but I can't stand driving a vehicle that isn't clean and ready to go. I check tire pressure two, even three times a week. The best thing that ever happened to me is that my new truck there is an app that I can check tire pressure on every morning when I get up. I have a car that I'm not driving unless I absolutely have to because mileage wise it needs an oil change and I can't get it in until next week.

I have worked hard to "cure" myself of a lot of these OCD issues. Some remain.
I can't not make the bed every morning. Even in a hotel room. I must leave the bathroom in perfect condition after shower/shave. The silverware drawer must be arranged in a specific way. The tools on the work bench in the garage must be arranged in descending order of size from R to L, which is a source of great amusement to my friends. Doors and drawers must be closed completely.

And most of all items must be returned to their original storage location after use. Failing to do so drives me insane. Mrs DB is world famous for throwing things just anywhere so it's a regular source of "discussion" around here.

I turn all my dirty clothes right side out.
Can't stand to wash a load of clothes and some are inside out or worse.

Left sock, right sock, left shoe, right shoe. Always.

Here's the weird one- the volume on the radio in the car and the volume on the TV must always be an odd number. Same with the dryer- when setting the timer, it must be an odd number of minutes.

Although the answers here might be called OCD, to me many of the answers look like smart habits of organization that make life easier.

I have a bunch of those type of habits, many of which save a lot of time.

Many seem to have a kind of military attention to detail, control, and order - not what I would have expected from musicians.

Is perhaps 'OCD' a modern term for what used to be called 'anally retentive' in Freudian psychoanalysis?
