Wow, 5 pages, over 2 years, and not a mention of Tony Rice, the ultimate guitar and watch geek.

To be honest - no doubt that Speedmaster is an outstanding watch but I prefer to see numbers on the dial, not markers and I like a brightly colored chrono second hand - also don't need a rotating bezel although my Tag has it.

I was until I got my first smart watch. I bought it for vital signs during cardio workouts but I haven’t worn my dumb watches since.

I have a few (too many) watches! Lots of different styles. I particularly like automatics and hand wind movements, but also have a few quartz and the first watch pictured which is a GPS Solar movement (Seiko Marine Master Ocean Cruiser). These are only the ones in cases on my dresser. I have dozens more. I also have watch tools and a timegrapher so I can regulate the movements if they start to gain or lose too much time.

I recently stumbled across this thread and thought I'd add some watch photos from my collection. My collection is primarily ‘60s and 70s watches, mostly just post mid-century modern in design, influenced by pop art.
The majority of my watches are from the French watchmaker LIP, primarily designed by Roger Tallon and Rudy Meyer:

I also have a Hamilton Pacer Automatic, from the 50s and a Hamilton Gordon from the 40s, and a LIP watch by Michel Boyer:

A group of "Mystery Dial" watches by Mondia and Longines:

A LIP Electric watch by Rudy Meyer -- a cool looking design, but a flop: It came out as the first battery powered watch, with an electronic movement shortly before inexpensive and highly accurate quartz watches exploded on the market. The LIP "Electronique" wasn't very accurate or robust. Next to that is a Zodiac "Mystery Dial" and my dad's first watch, "Smitty" from the late 20s.

I've grown fond of Omegas in recent years. The first one I got was a 300M when they used to be available in quartz, which works out better for me, anyway.

Later on got a "Tintin," which Omega had made as a tribute watch to the Tintin graphic novel Destination Moon. Omega didn't wind up getting permission from the owners to the rights of the novel, so they dumped the rocket hand and left in the red and white checkered bezel. I got one of the last ones new for a big discount as it wasn't a popular watch. Later on it became collectible and I sold it for good money. I wish I still had it, but the funds allowed me to get something else I liked.

My favorite watch is the Speedmaster '57. Some things you buy and you like them better over time- this is one.

I saw this online and really like it, but it looks like it's the better part of $10K, so that ain't happening unless I win the lottery. I think this is a very flattering photo of it, which makes it look better than other photos I've seen.

I liked the aesthetic of the Swatch I bought and posted previously in this thread but the strap was cheap and nasty and the buckle quickly broke. It was under warranty but I couldn’t be bothered sending it back.

I replaced it with this Timex Marlin a few days ago. My first wind up/automatic watch. Very reasonably priced with a 15% discount for signing up to the online newsletter. I think it looks very elegant and the build quality seems good.

I used to be really into watches. Been slowly selling them off. Some of the ones I miss include a Panerai 104, Broad Arrow Speedmaster, IWC Portuguese, Sinn. I regret never getting a Panerai Sub but my wrists are pretty skinny and big watches don’t wear well on me. Here are some of what remains, if only for a short time.

My Rolex Date Just is one year younger than my Santa Cruz.
40 years vs 41 years.
