Default Very Disturbing News out of Wyoming Wolf tortured then killed

While we love living in the location we do
There was very very disturbing and sad news of local incident
Hopefully the local and global outrage will serve to cause Wyoming Fish and Game to reexamine it's predator control guidelines and policy.

I cannot convey how disheartening this is to us Note My Avatar

A local man used his snowmobile to rundown to exhaustion and pin a yearling female wolf under the machine (not illegal under Wyoming law in a designated "Predator Zone" ) Then then duct taped its jaws shut, and took it home alive (illegal to capture and possess a live wild animal, but carries only a civil $250 dollar fine)
He then is alleged to have turned his hunting dogs loose on the wolf (as purported "training" Then took the now severely injured wolf still barely alive to his local bar to show off then took it out behind the bar and shot it .

This ghastly and sadistic behavior is totally unacceptable and is an insult to any Hunter (with even a minimal amount of ethics regardless of world view) as well as obviously anyone who is concerned about state of wild animals
and humanity as a whole,

To me to profess to "love the land" and engage in this kind of behavior over any vulnerable creature of the land , is the height of hypocrisy and pure sadism

Please do not turn this thread into a debate about hunting It is about an individual humans behavior.

That guy is garbage. He's not just an affront to hunters, but anyone who enjoys nature. Really disgusting.

There is a special place in Hell for people who do things like that. Pity we can't help them reach that destination sooner.

I saw that news and know similar goes on in my state but I guess not caught or so dumb for it to be on social media. Our state is more and more becoming sort of two worlds, and a lot of penalties for some things have been reduced in the past 14 years.

My best hope for a lot of poor behavior and degradation of some standards I grew up with is gen z. Our enterprise employs them across demographics and levels of education. Most all seem pretty good against many in my boomer or my wife's gen x.

The penalty should allow for the same to be done to the perpetrator. Turn him over to a wolf pack. Added: and anyone who stood by and watched or participated.

Nothing makes my blood boil more than hearing about animals being treated in any other way but total respect.

I feel that way about children. Human ones.

Of course - that is even worse. And add the elderly to the list.

After Vietnam, nothing depraved that humans are willing to do to each other or animals surprises me. Yes, there needs to be protections for both animals and humans because of this unfortunate trait.

For certain the tendency to abuse any vulnerable creature, human or animal stems from the same basic types of psychological and behavioral characteristics. There is a statistic that 85 % of people who engage in spousal and child abuse also abuse animals.

The problem is of course that the penalties pretty much fit crime when the victim is human. But unfortunately that is definitely not case with most types of animal abuse

KevWind, that indeed is a horrible thing.

When it comes to abusing animals, I just wish that I could be nearby with a good baseball bat to *teach* the abuser a lesson.

I'm not a violent type of individual, except when it comes to animal abuse.

$250.00 is not a fitting punishment.

This makes me immensely sad for both the innocent wild creature and the very broken person. Human superiority is not my thing, I struggle for the survival of all.

I’m saddened greatly to hear of this incident. Hopefully the perpetrator will come to understand the horror of his atrocities and change his attitude and behavior.

I live in a coop apartment. My next-door neighbor has been verbally abusing her son (now 10 years old) since I moved in 3 years ago. Their bedroom wall is right next to mine. I have no way to directly "prove" the abuse and the best I can do is send letters to the Board of Directors telling them she's abusing her son and complaining about her constant noise. They started to fine her. It's appalling. She does the same to many of us in the building. She's a mean, nasty, potentially violent person. It goes deeper than that.

A new neighbor just moved into the apartment directly above her. She went to his apartment and started in with him a couple of nights ago, telling him he needs to "obey" the building rules, etc. She never met the guy before. Yelling, screaming, etc. I heard it got ugly.

Turns out he's a detective on the police force. Nice guy, I met him earlier today. He smiled at me and said its being escalated to the proper authorities. So....there is karma.

In lieu of karma, the bat or the wolf pack sounds appropriate. There are people that are just malevolent.
