Default Cassettes - does anyone here want or use them?

Old boomer here ... does anyone here want or use cassettes? I have a few here; some blank, some studio, some just random content.

Shall I just toss or donate them?

I just had to buy some, to copy and preserve some old family stories. They are hard to find and I think I paid $20+ for a package of five.

Donate to a thrift store.

I have around 50 cassettes from my old 4 track Tascam, and would love to have something to listen to them on, but just can’t/haven’t found the right cassette player yet. Put em on online market place or ebay, you never know.

AAAAHHH! I have a Fostex and one of those. Need to give them up, finally; an iPad works fine for tracking.

I had my Tascam all selonoid operated 4 track cassette recorder that I purchased new sitting in a box for several years; I literally couldn't give it away.

I pulled it off a shelf a couple years ago and told my friend that I was going to send it off to the donation box and he told me I should check eBay first, that I should reconsider.

I ended up getting almost as much as I paid for it new!

I just sold (and bought)some vintage stereo equipment. The owner of the shop asked me if I have any cassette players..He told they are now like turntables as in they are becoming popular with younger folks.I have a nice one but my son is now into vinyl and asked if he could have it along with my old cassettes. He also wants all of my vinyl...not going to happen till im gone.

Finally there's something that I absolutely feel I'm smarter about than someone of the next generation.

The first time I got a chance to record using digital audio I knew that I'd NEVER feel any desire to use cassettes again!

lots of Punk bands and small labels are putting out music on cassette. in terms of growth numbers, cassettes are one of the fastest growing audio mediums., albeit from a near zero start,

There's a pub here in Portland that only plays 90's hip hop (a genre I truly love from recording nerd point of view) from cassette tapes

DON'T SELL YOUR CASSETTES!
Lou Ottens, the inventor of the cassette tape, has died so all your cassettes are like Van Goghs now.
