OVERVIEW AND CONDITION

This is an excellent student instrument. The guitar has been cared for and is in near-mint, totally original condition. There are no issues: no cracks; no repairs; no modifications; no string burns. The gloss finish is in excellent condition: no scratches, checking or nail marks. Includes original lined soft-shell case in very good condition, and a new set of D'Addario Pro Arte EJ46 strings. Overall, this instrument is in superb condition, projects well and is very ready to play.


CONSTRUCTION & MEASURES

The guitar is well built, constructed with a spruce top, mahogany back/sides and solid mahogany neck. The 214S model has an upgraded solid spruce soundboard, ebony fingerboard (not rosewood) and gold tuning machines. The spruce soundboard has a nice combination of wide and narrow grain with pronounced silking and a beautifully aged-finish patina. Appointments are understated yet elegant, with a traditional mosaic rosette and gold tuners with pearl knobs.

The guitar projects a balanced, clear timbre with good note separation and a strong punch when the strings are attacked. This is a very comfortable guitar, with a scale length of 648mm. The fingerboard is in great shape, clean with polished frets and no sign of fret wear. Action is set just under 4mm at the 12th position on the 6th string, and 2.5mm at the 12th position on the 1st string. The nut width is a very comfortable 48mm. There is plenty of saddle available for futher adjustment, if desired. The guitar was recently restrung, frets polished and fingerboard conditioned with woodwind bore oil.
