Poncho and Lefty
Townes Van Zandt's Poncho and Lefty, about the Mexican revolution and the Americans who went down there to get in on it. My grandfather was one of those.

Sorry, can't view the vid either.
But I'm very familiar with the song about a Mexican bandit Pancho and his friend Lefty... "The day they laid poor Pancho low, Lefty split for Ohio Where he got the bread to go, There ain't nobody knows All the Federales say We could have had him any day We only let him slip away Out of kindness, I suppose The poets tell how Pancho fell, And Lefty's living in cheap hotels The desert's quiet, Cleveland's cold, And so the story ends we're told Pancho needs your prayers it's true, But save a few for Lefty too He only did what he had to do, And now he's growing old"... The lyrics indicate that Lefty turned Pancho in for a reward and fled to Ohio, justifying to himself that he did what he had to do to save himself..I've heard it interpreted to be about Pancho Villa, but Townes said when asked, that it wasn't so...it's a song about a betrayed friendship... Great TVZ tune, tho!

If you are trying to "wrap" your video in the YouTube icon in the upper right hand corner of the dialog box you may be pasting too much of the YouTube url. All you need is the end, the stuff after the equal = sign.

I thought I'd look on recent versions of this song on Y/T and found this one by a guy called Robert, or Rob ? ... and there is a Martin OM42 incvolved with a National and an old Gibson in view!
I've used the Youtube icon, and inserted just the stuff AFTER the = sign I think that this is one of Townes' better songs. It tells a story with no beginning and no definite ending - so we get involved in resolving the story, reaching our own conclusions. FWIW, this was my version six years ago, when I was fat and had hair!

Thanks for the kind comments and especially for providing correcting the video posting information. The camera is moving on a motorized slider, a kind of rail that the continues to move back and forth while keeping the camera centered on the subject. There is no camera operator. This one is made by Kanova, but there are many of them. The most expensive part of the system is the centering head. This is shot on 4K video so zooms can be made during editing.
