That’s what i’m planning on doing when I restring my Breedlove that has a loose nut. I figure it will just take a very light film on the surface to be sufficient.

Any white glue, carpenters glue, tight bond will work fine. Put the smallest possible drop on the bottom of the nut. Then while half I’d it off. If you can get a little more off it’s better. It’s only there to keep the nut from falling out when there are no strings.

At Wayne Henderson's guitar building school we used an ever so small drop of Tight Bond. It's way more important that the bottom of the nut and the nut slot is level before glueing it in.

Superglue will NEVER touch any of my guitars.
I have a brass nut in my '76 Bronco that was installed probably before I was born (it looks black now from tarnish), it has zero glue. With a firm grasp, it will come out when the strings are off. It has a very precise fit.
