Santa Cruz 2016 Skye 00 Adi/Cocobolo SOLD
Offered for sale is my beautiful (both in looks and tone) Santa Cruz 2016 Skye 00 12 fret with Adirondack spruce top and Cocobolo back and sides. I'm selling it because I'm transitioning my collection of fingerstyle guitars to guitars with cutaways and I have found a worthy Adi/Cocobolo successor to this wonderful guitar (see my NGD in the Custom Shop sub-forum for my new Edwinson Zephyr 00).
This guitar is the Eric Skye signature edition and its design was conceived by Richard Hoover and Eric Skye. Eric is an amazing jazz acoustic fingerstyle player as well as an amazing flatpicker and he does both with this guitar. It is in excellent condition (as well as the original Santa Cruz case). There are no dings or cracks on the top, body, neck, or peghead. There are very minor micro-swirls in the surface finish and the pickguard that are typical of a guitar 4-5 years old. I am the second owner and this guitar has never been played out, lives in a smoke-free home, and also lives in a humidity controlled environment (45%-55% RH year round). I wish I could keep this guitar but I can't justify having two Adi/Cocobolo 00's of the caliber of Santa Cruz and Edwinson so I want to find a new happy home for the Skye 00. Good luck with the sale! Santa Cruz consistently builds with some of the best straight-grained Cocobolo that I have ever seen, and this guitar is no exception!

This guitar will list out at about $7.6K new. You hardly find them available used so I believe this is an excellent opportunity for a lucky buyer. Almost had a sale for it over the weekend and a couple more currently showing interest. I really hope to find a happy home for this wonderful guitar.

Election Day Bump and answer to question below. The strings on the guitar as shown are Thomastik Plectrums, 11-50's but a modified set. I replace the 11-14 on the first and second strings with 12-16 to give more bite to the trebles. This string configuration seems to drive the top quite well. I use this same modified string set also on my Collings 0001A, Froggy Bottom H-12, and my new Edwinson Zephyr 00 with excellent results.
