If it’s the one over at the Fretted Buffalo, I think it might made from the same walnut boards as mine. Hope you bring it home. Have you been over to play it?
I haven't played it but made the inquiry of Bill about the guitar. I work about 35 miles from The Fretted Buffalo so I could easily stop on over and give the McIlroy A25 a whirl.

Compared to my previous AS30c, my AP25 is slightly louder and warmer sounding. The bass has more depth but not quite as clear and defined as the AS. The highs sound a little thicker, little less shimmer than the Sitka AS30c. The The AS however had a bit more sustain. But For my strumming style the AP25 works a wee bit better, less busy overtones. I think my AP25 is more evenly balanced.

Ill have to think about this a bit more...how different this one is given the different woods and sizes from the A30c and the AS30C.

Love it! Such a beautiful guitar! In terms of size how does it compare to OMs, grand concerts, Dreadnoughts, etc?

Thanks so much I’m amazed at Dermot’s craftsmanship too. Every time I take it out of the case, I admire it and and then get lost in that lovely Irish tone.

Dermot has said his AP size is his version of the traditional OM. Very close to Martins endpin depth (about 4 1/8” and lower bout width (about 15 11/16”). But mine is a custom depth of almost 4 1/2”. It’s Closer to his A size body which is a small jumbo. It’s the perfect size for me. Definitely smaller than a dreadnaught...but almost as loud!

Dermot also uses a larger soundhole of 4 7/16. And it has a larger waist than most OMs. Personally I love the look but it also is part of what gives Mcilroys their unique sound.

Thanks for checking in!
