Nice sounding guitar and good playing! The GS Mini never really did it for me, but this guitar sounds a little fuller overall. How does it sound finger picked?

This might be the most comfortable guitar I’ve owned - string spacing is perfect for my hands, and the neck is fast. Agree about the bass, more rounded sound than the GS mini.

Excited to see how this guitar changes over time, and it’s a likely keeper for me. (Or until the next Taylor release.).
Congrats! Enjoy your new GT

Played a new GT back to back with a GSm spruce and a GSm hog today. I think there's not enough difference for three times the price, but that may be because of horridly out of tune 12 string in the background of today's GC acoustic room.

You could look at this two ways. The GT is not a game changer.
Or
The GS mini as it is gives more than you would expect from a guitar like that.

As a baseline I played a two other big brand guitars in the same size range and imo the GT and those particular GS minis all blew off the competition.

Thank you.

I wish I had added some finger picking to the demo, but it does sound nice when finger picked.

Hello,
Nice Sound, thanks for the demo. Could you please measure the body sice? I could only find the lower bout width of 15 inches, and the scale length nothing more. I'd like to know the body length, upper bout with, upper bout depth and lower bout depth.
And has anybody seen a picture of the C-Class Bracing? I also couldn't find one...
thanks,
Florian

I think I hear kind of a Gibson sound from this. Which is great, but . . . I've played a bunch of J-15 and J-29 examples and I've never run across a bad one. And they cost less than the GT.

I guess if you want a short-scale Taylor that sounds better than the GS Mini this fits the bill. But The GS Mini sounds real good for the money, and this is a lot more money.

These seem like great in-the-middle guitars. I am kind of disappointed that Taylor didn't see fit to go with the 1.75" nut width that they use on most of their other full-size guitars...but to some, this might be a good compromise.

Enjoy your new guitar!

Has anyone taken a mirror or cell phone and looked inside a GT to see the C-class bracing?

What did they change from V-class rev 1?

From what I could see looking inside the soundhole, the brace you would normally see on the treble side of the soundhole has been replaced with a thinner, flat strip of wood that is a darker color than spruce.

I bet this guitar will sell a lot of Mini Taylor guitars when the two are played side by side.
Another great marketing idea from Taylor.

Not on this planet in the past three or five years!

The current MAP on the J-15 is $1799 for the non-pickup version, whereas the GT Urban Ash w/o pickup is four hundred bucks less. Not sure where you're getting your pricing info...
