I use hybrid picking..flatpick and fingers (middle and ring)

Bret Mason plays entirely finger syle

Derek Trucks and Mark Knopfler come to mind of fingerpicking electric guru's..

what about Ry Cooder, doesn't he fingerpick alot?

well... that's not really true.. he uses a thumbpick and has artificial fingernails professionally applied... they all act like picks... Johnny Hiland does the same thing...

Guthrie Trapp uses a pick, and the meat of his ring/middle fingers to play...

Lots of great electric players play finger style. The above mentioned "stars" also just regular guys like me. I play a lot of electric and always prefer finger style. You just have to learn to mute a lot.
