DPA Guitar Microphone?
Hey Gang,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the DPA 4099 Guitar Microphone? I saw one in Artisan yesterday but didn't get a chance to give it run. I plan on going back to try it but i'd love some feedback from people using it. Here's a link, http://www.dpamicrophones.com/en/pro...118&item=24326 Thanks!!! Kindly, Danny |

I tried it recently with my HD28 Martin in an L1 Bose PA system. My aim was to use it on stage in small venues.
Nice sound, very accurate and natural. The mount is convenient and you can install it very easily and safely on the guitar. The only big problem for me was feedback. Even with a relatively low stage volume I could not use it. A high-pitched feedback was never far away. Chris Last edited by tochiro; 07-31-2009 at 07:39 AM. |

Check Out Doug Young's Site
ALoha,
Check out Doug Young's pickup comparison site. He recently added the DPA 4099 to the samples. Near the end in the 80's. Go the the site. Hit All, All and scroll down to the samples. Sample # 86 has Doug's guitar triple sourced: K&K mini, DTAR Magmic & the DPA 4099. Great sound! Check it out. http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/pickuptests/ Great resource. Hope it helps. alohachris |

Thanks, guys! The feedback partly what i'm worried about. I already mic my guitars when I play out, unless I have to plug in, and the idea of this microphone sounds really interesting for band situations.
Thanks! Kindly, Danny |
