Hum from amp
I have a Roland X20 amp and I use it with my Epiphone Dot. In the past I have used a Monster cable from the guitar to the amp. Now I want to add a few pedals between the guitar and the amp, so I bought a few new cables made by Pro Co. When I hook the Pro Co cable up to the amp (directly, no pedals between), I now have a hum. If I put my hands lightly on the strings, the hum disappears or reduces.
Anyone know what this is and how I can fix it? And I also have a humX eliminator that I plug in between the amp and the wall. Help.

Yes, shielded cables - stuff (wire mesh) in the center of the cable is supposed to eliminate this problem.

Thanks, that's what I thought and that is why I bought these cables since they are listed as shielded cables. Hmmm.
