Dennis inquired, in a different thread, about an OM we've been building. Seems appropriate to post those pics here, in our more general thread. Can't remember if we've shared pics of this or not, but these are quite recent. It is a deep body OM, using a very interesting set of Indonesian Rosewood. It's a dead-ringer for Cocobolo, without the itch, rash and runny eyes. Festooned with Paua almost everywhere. Neck is curing, so not attached, neither is bridge. But this gives a hint of finished appearance:

Ebony bindings and Bearclaw Sitka top.
Thanks for looking,

Steve

I love that look. All the paua with the black binding. That rosette is a killer. Exceptional guitar with a vintage vibe.

You build some gorgeous guitars.

Where is your shop located? I’d love to try one of these things out one day. This is stunning work.

There are a few people out there who just make their guitars into gorgeous pieces of art. These definitely fall into that category.

While Steve and Ryan are in Nacogdoches, TX, their guitars are all over the country..and most of us who own one would be more than willing to let you try one out! (Goes for others considering one!)

Well hopefully someone in Florida has one. I’d really love to try one of these. They’re just exquisite guitars.

There are so many guitar makers out there. But not everyone is able to make art out of their guitars.

I give Kinnaird pretty high ranking there. Other makers I’ve seen who just make beautiful pieces are Balazs Prohaszka, Charis, Kevin Ryan and I’m sure there are loads I’m missing. But these makers just stand out to me with their wood choices and their construction.

Jojobean, like TuckerRE said, we’re in East Texas about two hours north of Houston in the oldest town in Texas. It’s beautiful pineywoods here, so if you’re ever in the area, please drop by. We actually have quite a few guitars in Florida - though primarily they are in South Florida. A dealer of ours, Bob Singer of Your Perfect Guitar, recently took delivery of this Bearclaw Sitka/Macassar Ebony FS.

I don’t believe he’s even listed it yet, so if you get near Ft. Lauderdale, you should check it out. Also, keep checking here for a maple guitar we’re about to start for a shop in Miami.

Thanks for the kind words about our guitars.

June 21: Summer Solstice

Part 3 of this thread already? Ok. I guess we’ll keep on going. I’ll post a pic that relates to the rosette that ended Part 2 of this thread.

Bending a 1/16” thick piece of high curl mahogany for the outer rings of a rosette.

That looks like one evil contraption!! My wife burned her leg with a curling iron when she was in high school. That looks like a curling iron x 1,000,000.

Well, if I’m ever in Texas, I would love to come by. I get down to South Florida a lot more than I go to Texas- which so far only happens when I fly to CA or CO.

Appreciate that, bro. We were going for "vintage", with a few twists and turns that might yield something other than vintage. It's no Martin clone, but if we got close to backwards-leaning, then I'm glad.

Wow, high praise--thank you! Like Ryan said, south Florida has Your Perfect Guitar. They carry our instruments and would love to have you drop by.

Thanks all,

Steve

Thanks all,

That’s really good to know. I thought I had been to every decent guitar store in Florida. But I hadn’t heard of this before. I will have to make a trip down there one day.
