Default battery life

I have a Breedlove, Oregon Myrtlewood electric acoustic …

the original battery
(I forget which, a "pro" 9 v ? )
went out last month … after quite some time ..
replaced w / a standard Duracell ..which went out in about a month's time …

I do not use the electric application all that much … but have no reference for whether this is the norm ? or is it possible
something is wrong w/in the system ?

thanx

Did you ever leave a cable plugged into the jack socket when the guitar was not in use?

assuming you didn't at some point leave it plugged in, you could have just picked up a dud Duracell. These tend to last for quite some time in all the guitars I have that use a 9v.
