Question Yamaha FGX800C amplification issue

This has weird issue.
Output only works when tuner is on.
As soon as tuner is off, it cuts the output signal.
What's going on?

This sort of problem gets reported from time to time. Sometimes removing the battery, waiting a minute, and re-installing the battery will cure the problem. More often the on-board preamp needs to be replaced.

Thanks for reply.
Battery was the 1st thing I thought of so I replaced them with fresh batteries and still the issue remains.
I'll open it up and see if there's a cold solder joint or something visible.
