This guitar has so many tricks, im hoping they all come together nicely. Manzer wedge, elevated fingerboard, all american woods with Texas ebony fingerboard and bridge, lots of Carbonfiber reinforcement with no adjustable truss rod ala McPherson, bevels out the wazoo carbon fiber internal struts. Goodness, making me tired just thinking about it

Smile Sorry you were worn out, John

It's all my fault, now Johns all worn out...

I have high hopes that this one will allow me to continue my low budget, and under the radar career for a few more years, before my arms fall off!

Besides, if you're working with someone like John, Who loves to stretch his boundaries, you might as well go big! And this guitar is big. REALLY BIG.

Yesterday I played two large rooms, for seniors, without amplification, as usual. I used my two custom round peak instruments from John, and it went great! It is a rare gig that I don't get numerous compliments about the Beautiful sound and looks of these guitars! I always thank my lucky stars I have good strong pipes, as I need to bellow to get my voice over these things when I'm whacking them!

As always, gang, let me recommend finding some place to play for seniors! After a lifetime of struggling in bars and restaurants where people pay less attention every year, it is wonderful to be playing for people Who actually listen and care! And once a while you might book a party out of it…

Thank you very much, John, for all your labors on my behalf!

Cheers

Paul

Looking really good guys. I probably missed the info, but did your maple come from Cormark?

The neck maple did.
I bought the back and sides off the internet and i dont remember where. It was a plank. Ive got two more sets with judicious sawing.

Paul, WOW!! Great looking guitar! That has been quite a project and the result is spectacular! With those bevels, this one should be about as comfy as a fuzzy blanket to cuddle up with. I know you'll love it! Congratulations!

It sounds amazingly strong considering the strings are such a light guage you can't even see them.

When Paul said you were enjoying playing this one, I was going to inquire if those strings came from the same tailor that made the King's clothes, but I see you answered already, super lights!

Smile Tuner swap

Tuner swap for nicer looks results in string disappearance...

Hah. Makes a most extravagant Cajon, too!

I have asked John to really compare this neck to the neck on his number 99, as that one is one of my favorite necks of all time. So there's a chance that it may get a little more taken off the shoulders, and the neck heel...

And perhaps a bit extra off the underside of the neck as this is one of his superduper asymmetrical neck carves. Like my favorite neck ever, JK #128

I'm going for every bit of comfort I can get on this one. At 67 the gigs are getting a bit harder, and becoming a bit more work. My fun factory (HAHA SIRI I said fun factor) is high though, when I am actually playing for people. As musicians, I've always thought we should get paid for our commute and set up. And paid handsomely for them! And then we can play for free!

Everybody have a ROCKIN' Saturday
