That is some really nice Coco, and I can't think of a better use for it than this awesome guitar! I keep trying to convince my wife I need a matching mini for my 'daughter'

Thought we had some cocobolo for the rosette - but OOOOPS. Got a call into the people where we purchased the wood set to see if they can help us out.

Hopefully we'll get back on track with this soon.

Very excited.

Time to bounce back to the other 2 guitars we have in the works!

Thumbs up

this is a very cool build!

and i really like the fretboard specs! a lot of us have not purchased the Mini GS due to the fretboard specs-this could be a wonderful alternative.

keep the pics and info coming
thanks

Off cuts from the back won't work? Make a tiled rosette or even a mosaic

We used all the cut-offs to make up some really nice bookmatched headplates.

I think you're on to something that could prove to be a big "little" hit, Paul. Thanks for letting us in on it's development!

I say over-sized sound port and you've got your wood

We really haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I figured I'd better give an update on things.

Kyle and I are VERY busy with our day jobs right now - and that has kept us from focused attention on building on a regular basis. We are also building two other guitars right now - and have been trying to juggle all three to keep things moving.

We'll be making separate threads on these guitars soon - but wanted to throw up some photos so you can see what we've been up to the past couple months.

First off is our MS Model with a Manzer Wedge body. African Blackwood. This one is for our friend Jamin.

Pictured below is some of the work done over the weekend. We now have Jamin's Afr. Blackwood guitar as complete rims. The other guitar shown below is for a friend of mine in CA (Rob). It is African (Black) Ebony. This stuff is STIFF and HEAVY! Worked on the sides and the cutaway - and hope to have the cutaway joined to the sides later on this week. This guitar is going to have a black top with natural Black Ebony sides and back - with Koa accents and Koa neck (which is gorgeous!)

Here's the Koa rosette for Rob's Guitar - it will pop out of the black top for sure!

And then so you don't think we've completely lost track of the PS guitar, here is a photo of the inlay that Kyle did for the fingerboard. No photos yet - but we've also done the rosette and have the rough braces attached to the top ready for shaving.
