It seems like it's been a long time baby.
I took a little trip to France and England. I just get back last night. I picked up my guitar after sixteen days not touching a guitar, and by golly, I think I improved. I just feel like I'm playing a bit cleaner today.

I'm not surprised at all. There's a clarity; I felt it, too. Giving your hands and your mind a break for a few weeks and the time to regenerate/recharge is a wonderful thing. It doesn't feel wonderful while you're missing your guitars, but it makes the homecoming even sweeter. Welcome back!

Interesting. I feel that way most every morning after a cup of coffee, during the first 1-2 minutes of playing. As though I'm really listening to the guitar.
Before I start banging away on the "serious" stuff. I do think it does us good to step back from the routine for a while. |

I think that's a pretty common phenomenon. Some time away often make your hear things with better clarity when you pick it back up. Applies to a lot of things in life.

My wife barely tolerates my guitar obsession. But if I said we should take a sixteen day trip to England and France to improve my playing… I bet she would be very supportive! LOL

Sounds like a fun trip Rolli. I had the opposite experience lately. Came back from a 10 day trip and my fingers weren't working very well at all. I was playing the ukulele on that trip, the cramped fret size must have got ingrained I to my movements
