Bought a guitar from Sweetwater...
First time although I've purchased accessories and the like. Consigned the dread I had at my river cabin which left me with an Eastman E10OM-TC which my wife plays more than me. So after considering several different models (trying to stay under $1k) I ended up with a Yamaha LL16 which is a deal at $899 in my opinion. As a matter of fact...after playing it for maybe an hour or so it may never make it to the cabin. I've been intrigued by the LL body shape of a more "rounded" dread body. Always liked the way it looked. Now I also like the way it plays and sounds. Takes very little from the right hand to get a lot out of this guitar. Also has a passive UST which is a plus for me. Haven't plugged it in yet though.
Great service from Sweetwater as usual. Shipped quick and free. It's a lot of guitar but especially at it's price point. Here are a couple of obligatory pics from Sweetwater:

That's a beauty. Did it come with a nice hardshell case?
What did you compare it with? What was the diff? Check it out with Martin Authentic 12-54 strings. It is what I play on the LS-TA, which has same scale length but slightly smaller body.

Nice guitar. A friend has one of those and some ''higher'' end guitars. He says that one is his favorite.
Good choice, enjoy |

The LL's are really a beautiful guitar, and the torrefied engelmann spruce they use sounds fantastic. They're really hard to beat, and not just at that price point.

Congratulations! That's a very nice guitar. I also own a LL 16. I find the guitar pleasantly loud. Like you said, it doesn't take much effort with the right hand to get volume. Even up the frets capoed the guitar has a big sound.

A no-brainer. A sweet guitar for well less than a grand. I have one in black. I bought one used from Guitar Center, but it had a wrinkle in the back panel. Once I saw it, that was all I could see. They matched the deal on a new one that they had in the system. Well under a grand and a real hard case.

Yamahas seem to be a real sleeper acoustic. If I were younger and looking for a good guitar I'd definitely be looking their way.

Thanks...I was looking at the Guild "Pac-Rim" D-140 until I heard about some neck/neck set issues that may have been related to those specific guitars. Also looked at a Recording King RD-324 but it was a little more and there wasn't one to ne had so? Bought sight unseen...and unplayed. This one came with a nice gig bag butI have a hard shell case for it.
