I think the additional features I was after was the looper and presets mainly. Also more tweakability with the effects/EQ's. This was why I chose the Play Acoustic, and I liked it being a floor pedal. Although I think you can use a switch 3 or 6 with the VG if needed.

Yes I use a switch 3 with it so I can turn any 3 harmonies on or off when I want.

Well that was a less than stellar sounding demo.
The guitar sounds absolutely awful. It's a hard pass for me.

I ordered a TC Perform-VG today to try as an alternate to my VE-8.
The Boost function on the Perform-VG as well as, hopefully simpler
interface were key reasons. I plan to get the Switch-3 and program
switch1 to high harmony, switch2 to High/Low Harmony,
and switch3 to Boost. I think this will work per the manual, and is all I need.
I will be anxious to see how it sounds.

Thats what I did. I got the Digitech switch 3...it's only around $25 and works the same. The Perform VG works great with the footswitch for harmonies.
I have switcxh 1 for low, 2 for high and 3 for high/low. I don't need the boost for guitar. I use the guitar pass thru and use the Soulmate for my guitar effects, including boost.

Thanks for the tip on the DigiTech Switch. I assumed the boost was for
guitar....did I miss something? Thanks.

You are correct. The boost is for guitar.

Thanks JackB1
Does the Guitar Boost function work with the Guitar Thru output?
I am assuming that it doesn't, but thought I would verify.
The manual implies all guitar functions in the VG are bypassed
when using the Guitar Thru output. Thanks.

Default northern ohio

hey are any of you play acoustic folk in northern ohio. i have a play acoustic but i'm not a tech savvy guy. always been a sit down with good guitar and a mic dinosaur. the videos and manuals confuse more than help.
at the moment the only thing i use is the single harmony function. if i'm using the preset can i just play and hit the button when i want those harmonies? will the presets also effect my guitar, or will it be what i dialed in the day i set it up? what i would really like to do is just watch someone else use theirs!!!!
