I've been trying to get to the bottom of the "SF" since I bought it.
I contacted Godin and I was told by one guy that it stood for slightly flawed and another told me that it stood for stain finish. Neither could tell me about the Seagull on the 12th fret.

I've looked for a flaw and I just can't find anything...

Thanks, I had a hunch it might be a humidifier.

Under what climatic conditions does it become crucial to use one?
